Gratitude is a very powerful emotion and practicing it every day gives you an instant ray of hope on the days you feel down, tired, and directionless. 

Pandemic has taught us the meaning the real meaning of living a life and how unpredictable it can get.

When was the last time you looked at the sunrise and expressed your gratitude towards it for choosing you to live the life for yet another day? If you do not recollect, well then do it tomorrow. 


Being grateful helps us satisfy the inner soul. It helps you release stress and makes you feel lighter in the head.

Why should you be grateful?


1. Feel-good hormones-

When they say gratitude is a magical emotion, it is because expressing your gratitude releases some unsaid, un-seen feel-good hormones that transform all the negative thoughts into positive ones. The more you express your gratitude, the more inner joy your soul feels. Feeling grateful for anything good that happens in your life.

2. Helps you deal with Adversity-

Putting out your emotions of being thankful to the universe for letting you breathe in this life it has given you, the universe reciprocates in a way that helps you deal with all the adversities, difficulties, and tough situations in life.

3. Maintains relationships-

Expressing gratitude to your loved ones can essentially be a very pleasing thing to do. Small little actions and care showed by your friends, partners, families, and loved ones should be appreciated so that it puts a smile on their face and gives them a sense of satisfaction for things they are doing.


4. No materialistic expectations –

People who are grateful for everything they have in life now, always feel relaxed and happy about it. The materialistic expectation in life lowers down. You tend to go with the flow and accept what comes your way rather than being over-pressurized to achieve things that are not under your control. Being passionate is good but being burdened by unrealistic expectations is certainly bad.


5. You have the best sleep of your life-

Gratitude, an emotion that is supposedly there to reduce the stress and burden that the expectations life brings. When your send all the positive affirmations to the universe, that day you get the best sleep of your life. When you express your gratitude for every little step that has taught you something new, that day you surely have a peaceful sleep.

Importance of Gratitude-


  • Gratitude makes you think optimistically which in turn makes you responsible, attentive, and dedicated towards your work, relationships, and life. Positive energy flows in when gratitude is given. People who constantly find themselves in a hopeless situation could be because plenty of negative thoughts are flowing around you.
  • Thoughts that include your future, relationships, and yourself can be very overwhelming. But to tackle this always remember to be grateful to every little thing that is happening around you and then see how you feel positive about life and its aspects.
  • Gratitude is known to give you hopes for a bright future. When you celebrate your small success and be thankful for the progress, it immediately boosts your confidence, and you can think about the future.
  • When you see a positive aspect while being in a difficult situation, it automatically helps you stabilize mental and physical health. Positivity comes by trying to spread it and, that can happen when you actively put gratitude above anything else.

Gratitude in Relationships-

  • When your partner makes you feel a little less stressed by a simple gesture like a big tight hug, express your gratitude to the universe for blessing you with a partner like this.
  • Friends play an essential role in helping us stay sane during our harsh times and, they can also drive us insane during the good times, be thankful that you have successfully chosen an extended family.
  • When a person lights the touch for you while you're looking for a solution, be grateful for their presence. Because such people always hope good things for you. 

 

These are only a few examples of gratitude that can help you look at the positive aspects of life.

How do I express my gratitude every day?

1. Waking up to see the sunrise is the first gratitude I pay. 
2. When I see someone appreciating my work, I have a sense of gratitude towards them for their encouragement. 
3. I express my gratitude to everyone who has helped me with the little things, on a daily basis. 
4. I am grateful to be able to work on the flaws that I have recognized very recently. 
5. My gratitude to myself for trying hard to better myself and keep myself upfront when someone needs me.
6. I express myself some gratitude for being the biggest cheerleader and support system. 
7. I am grateful to myself for being curious, learning to work hard, never say die attitude, and being compassionate. 

 


My perspective-Be the Epitome of Gratitude


Apart from all the above points I have mentioned, I genuinely feel that your deeds reflect your soul. I believe that all of us must strive to be such individuals to whom people can express gratitude. Well, nobody is perfect, yet the person who is a selfless, compassionate, pro-active listener, calm and composed, is the person who can become the epitome of gratitude.


Be the person people remember the good deeds done by you and tell you about the positive impact you left on them. It may happen when you least expect it that how positively you have touched their lives. 


One is the greatest gift you can give back to the universe in being an inspiration for someone.

At times, after you do everything well, you may feel sad when you see no return, times like this can be very demotivating. 


But I certainly believe that such good deeds will give you a good return when you require. Wait for your turn. Wait for the signs. This wait should not stop you from being the person you are thriving to be. If you can positively impact even one person's life, you are doing well.
