5 reasons to prove Knowledge is Power | Virtue | Vital- By Sonal Jain

Dreamer quotes

Knowledge is a virtue and I understood this very early in my life. Knowledge comes with learning and one who constantly learns and increases their own bank of knowledge will never find it difficult to tackle any situation

This has certainly been a very important lesson for me. Today I will talk about my insecurities with half knowledge. There have been many instances in my life where half knowledge has proven to be a disaster to me.

Half knowledge has proven to be a blockade in many of my opportunities. There have been incidents where my half-knowledge has brought me embarrassment and then it hit me hard that if I do not learn them when I have time, I would not be able to perform in a productive way when it is required.

Why is Gaining knowledge a Constant task in life?

1. It increases your thinking power.

One who works on building knowledge will also be able to improve their thinking power. It helps you solve your problems based on your own thought process. At times because of lack of knowledge, we keep looking for solutions and are unsure if we can find any. So, in such times be your own support by trying to think from various angles and solve the issues. Taking help whether from a friend or from a professional is not bad, but not trying enough in terms of gaining knowledge about the same and thinking someone else can solve the problem is not the right way to look at things.

2. Nobody can bring down your confidence.

A person is fully confident only when their knowledge regarding certain things is intact with them. When you know it all or you know it enough, chances are that you can put that knowledge to use very confidently. Half knowledge can put you in a problem or put someone else in an unfavorable situation. Also, it does not let you stand confidently when you are required to.

3. Become an excellent Conversationalist.

A person who is knowledgeable can always attract good and meaningful conversation towards them. Once you fill the bank of knowledge, everyone will want to talk to you, have conversations with you because it is a sign of intelligence. Half knowledge makes the conversation invalid or a sign of stupidity.

4. Opportunities will knock on your door.

Knowledge and skill-building are two important parts of work life. Half knowledge will bring you embarrassment in front of people and a good amount of knowledge will help you lead. When you see someone racing ahead in life, understand why that is happening.

One factor of such situations can be how good is his/her command over the subject or area of work. You attract opportunities based on how much hard work have you put in trying to build your knowledge.

5. You practice and spread your knowledge.

Well, this must be my most favorite quality that comes with improving knowledge. When you have filled yourself with the knowledge you automatically have the curiosity to test it. Knowledge is not always bookish; it can be anything related to skills you want to try. When you practice the gained knowledge, you get to analyze if it were right and enough, or you need to learn more. This gives you scope for improvement.

Secondly, a person with excess knowledge is never insecure about it. They like to spread the knowledge and pass it on to the next generation time and again. As they say, when you spread knowledge, it only increases for you. You will not lose anything by trying to share your knowledge.

Some incidents of my life related to 'Half Knowledge'

1. Once we were on a road trip to Rajasthan and that was a religious trip we do during Navratri. It had been more than a year since we went on a vacation. There was a video that I had seen which taught me how to shoot Instagram-worthy videos when you travel somewhere but it was kept downloaded and I did not pay attention to it because I thought I will not be traveling anywhere anytime soon. So basically, I procrastinated.

When we went on the trip, out of nowhere we decided to take a halt in Jaipur and the next day visit Jaipur tourist places and leave. That is when I realized if I practiced how to make a certain kind of video, it would have been easy for me to shoot videos there.

My half-knowledge had me lose an opportunity. Since then, I decided to keep increasing my knowledge bank and improve it.

2. When I began content writing, I had zero knowledge about this field. People who know me will recollect that I have never written anything before. In my college, we had a media portal and after being a member for one year, I headed that portal for 2 consecutive years. In my last year, I had a good bunch of content writers on the team. I tried to learn some from one of my writers and I was glad I did that.

Thereafter also I also tried to contribute to the portal so that I can learn and put it to practice, which means after gaining knowledge I did not let go of it easily. I made an effort to write and re-confirm from the writers if it were good. This is how I learned content writing. I did many long-term internships after college to improve my half-knowledge and now have finally started my own blog after gaining experience and knowledge all this while.

These are a few incidents where I have felt gaining knowledge is a constant thing in life. This is going to solve your tough situations and help you in critical thinking. One thing is for sure. Every person learns from their own experiences and these were mine.
