10 Valuable lessons life has taught me - by Sonal Jain
We have always been told that life teaches you lessons at every stage. Every person you meet teaches you something and one who graciously learns from these lessons is a clear winner. Every human learns only after committing mistakes, but the important part is to learn and not repeat the mistakes. Here are some valuable lessons life has taught me.
There are days when you feel the life is knocking you down,
you feel you have been a dedicated failure and even after rigorous trials and
errors things do not work. But these are the days when life teaches you your
important lessons. I have always been reluctant to act immediately whenever
there has been any downfall. I take time to analyse what went wrong and then
start from a new end.
Such valuable lessons are important to better oneself, so here I am sharing a few life lessons I have learnt to date and I leant them very early in life. Since I also believe you are always learning and evolving, there are a few life lessons I have learnt the hard way and I am grateful to such experiences in life.
1. Punctuality is a virtue-
·       Punctuality is one of the greatest qualities and
life lesson to have. I once read somewhere that respect people’s time if you want
your time to be respected. This has been by far one quality I have constantly
tried to work on and succeeded most of the times.
·       When I see people are casual about being late at
work or for anything, I get upset about it. If you ever want to be respected,
respect the time.

·       To be a good listener is a great quality not
everyone works upon. At times people only need someone to lend their ears
rather than just walk away or give advice without knowledge.
·       Consider yourself a silent hero if you ever patiently
listen to someone’s problems and worries. This life lesson has been very useful
to me and has helped me stay calm in situations that were not in my control.

·       One who is a giver by heart will always be happy
in life and this is one of my mantras to a happy life. When you become a giver,
you see the universe rewarding you when it's your time. Giver of emotional or
mental support, giver of positive vibes and so much more.
· When you consciously deny being a true giver, that is when life teaches you a lesson. To each their own, everyone has a different experience on this but the I have personally witnessed this in my life and closely noticed it for others too.

·       Forgiveness is something you give others but let
life is for you. Confused? Let me explain. Holding grudges against anyone can
be self-damaging. It can stop your growth, ability to think and make decisions.
This is in the case where people have let you down or hurt you with words and
actions. Some things are not in your control but still happen.
·       Ultimately, the situation affects you and the
other person does not even realise it. So, forgive them and set yourself free.
This life lesson is all about a situation with no positive outcome if we tend
to hold it up against it.

·       This is such an important life lesson that I
have learnt all through my school and college-going years. Being prepared is
the first step to achieving success.
·       Some situations can go out of your control and
then you are expected to act accordingly but, in most cases, preparation helps
you keep your confidence high. Allow yourself the time to prepare and only then
act.

·       Envy is the worst feeling that develops in your
heart. Developing this feeling is very normal in this competitive world but it
cripples your heart in different ways especially when you are trying to be like
someone else.
·       The best way to leave this out of focus is to
work on your own self. Getting jealous is normal but having confidence in
you and your qualities is important. This life lesson is going to help you
learn a lot more about life and give you the confidence to better yourself.

·       This is something I have learnt the hard way. It
is not easy to please everyone with your opinions or actions. The only way out
of this is to stick to your opinions and care a little less about how people perceive
it. The onus is on people around you to understand that you can have a
different way of doing stuff and can have a different opinion.

·       Being Compassionate or empathetic are
two sides of the same coin. These two are super important qualities to have and
life has taught me the importance of these time and again. When people come to
me to share their problems and express their gratitude for listening makes me
the happiest.
·       As you grow up, you see so many incidents
where people have forgotten what empathy is and such incidents dishearten you,
but always remember such incidents should not be a base for you to forget about
these two qualities in life.

        9. Learn to accept flaws-
·       If you read my blog the other day, how to overcome
your fears? This blog is all about the recent advancements in my life. Very
recently I came to terms with my flaws and learnt how to overcome them. It is
very important to learn, accept and move on. The more you hold back, the more
it disturbs you.

·      This is a very subjective life lesson and can be
perceived differently by everyone. It is important to be flexible with your
goals so that you can live a life that is free of stress. Many times when you
are unable to reach the goal you set, you tend to get demotivated. If you keep
your goals flexible and try them differently, life would be much easier.

These were some of the most important lessons life has taught me at every step. There are many other life lessons that I have learnt so far. Some of these are staying positive and calm to tackle any situation, being polite with words and actions, showing utmost kindness to everyone you cross paths with, thinking twice before speaking and so many more.
Many times I also fail to follow them but then in my
subconscious mind, I know what I need to do. Now I am more evolved to learn from
mistakes, to try and improve the flaws and keep going ahead. Learning never stops because the one who knows it all is never going to evolve.
